Fijian Warriors Down Teros
The Telecom Fijian Warriors defeated the Uruguay national team 30-22 in Montevideo yesterday.
The scorers for Fiji are Isireli Ledua (2), Api Naikatini (1), Erono Vasiteri (1), Nacani Wakaya (1), Tkilaci Vuibau (1con, 1pen).
Team manager Taniela Domoni said the Warriors played a good game against the Teros.
“The game was tough but all thanks to the boys, who played very well,”Domoni said.
“Uruguay gave us a good run but our players pulled through very well,
Experienced Apisai Naikatini stood out in the forwards. The team led 15-3 at halftime.
“Argentina Pampas is next and that will be another tough match and the boys are looking forward to it,” Domoni said.
“We were overwhelmed with support from family, friends and relatives.
The Warriors play Argentina Pampas on Thursday at 4am (Fiji).
