The province of Rewa has taken the early leap to educate its district chiefs.

The workshop started yesterday with the Leadership and Management team from the Ministry of the iTaukei Affairs Board talking on selected topics.

Roko Tui Rewa, Timoci Kacanavesi said the leadership workshop was the first of its kind for any province.

Rewa chief, the Marama na Roko Tui Dreketi, Ro Teimumu Kepa, had set up the training workshop for all district chiefs in the province.

Mr Kacanavesi said the training was initiated by Ro Teimumu, which started on Tuesday at Nadave, Tailevu.

In opening the workshop, Bau chief Ratu Epenisa Cakobau, reminded the participants of their roles as leaders of their district.

For them to be effective and successful leaders, he said they must let the good Lord lead the way.

Ratu Epenisa also reminded the participants that they were leading the people and must be good role models at all times.

Mr Kacanavesi said the workshop would help the district leaders understand their roles and how to interact with the people.

He said all district leaders were present and they had received a positive response after yesterday’s session.

The three-day workshop ends today.
