A 32-year-old farmer is in custody after the Fiji Police Force operation team uprooted 26 plants, believed to be marijuana, from a farm in Kavala, Kadavu, on Tuesday.

The plants, ranging from 7 to 20 centimetres in height, are expected to be shipped over to Suva for examination while investigations on the matter continue.

Meanwhile, two men are also in custody after they were allegedly found with bullets of dried leaves, believed to be marijuana, in Suva.

The suspects were arrested after separate search encounters by Police officers. A 52-year-old man was allegedly found with two bullets while a 24-year-old was allegedly found with 16 bullets.

The bullets of dried leaves are currently being analysed while both men remain in Police custody for investigation.
