Ofa Lagonilakeba will try to set new records in the 400metres, 200m, 100m and 50m freestyle during the Fiji National Schools Swimming Championship today.
The 11-year old of Nadi Airport School won six gold medals last year.
“I’m confident to set new records in the events I will participate in,” Lagonilakeba said.
“I proved myself last year by winning six gold medals and I can do it again.”
Her mother Susan Lagonilakeba shared how her daughter got into swimming.
“Swimming was always part of her daily routine and everyday when her father goes diving she always accompany him,” she said.
“It’s good for her health and I encourage her to take up the sport. I know my daughter can do wonders and I’m proud of her.”
