Nadi Airport School aims to defend their title in the girls division, says Elenoa Osborne.

The swimming coach said after preparing for one year, the school was ready to deliver when the Fiji National Schools Swimming Championship starts today at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre.

“Swimming is part of the school’s curriculum,” Osborne said.

“We are going to try our best and defend our title again this year.

“I think this year is going to be different compared to previous years because new schools have joined in.”

Osborne said their main objective was to develop young swimmers.

“Our goal is to try and get young swimmer to the Pacific Schools Games in Australia later this year.

“We’ve got many talented kids who have huge potential and caliber in swimming.

“We are not going to underestimate any schools in this competition but will try our level best in all the events we participate in,” she said.

The Fiji National Schools Swimming Championship begins at 8.30am today.
