Tuicuvu Shines For Nadi

Fullback Setareki Tuicuvu scored 16 points in the 21-16 victory over Naitasiri during round two of the Skipper Cup competition at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.
Poor ball handling errors was the order of the day with three players sent to the sin-binned in the top of the table clash.
What happened: Naitasiri flyhalf Etonia Rakotuisova kicked two penalties in the 9th and 23rd as Nadi forwards were penalised for ruck infringements.
Nadi scored their first try in the 25th minute through Tuicuvu.
In the 32nd minute flyyhalf Aseri Vatuinaruku scored their second try.
Halftime: Nadi 14-6 Naitasiri
Veresi Daku scored and converted by Etonia Rakotuisova to close the gap 14-13.
Minutes later saw referee Johnson Lee send flanker Meli Rokoua and Filimoni Seru to the sin bin for unprofessional conduct.
In the 66th minute Rakotuisova kicked another penalty.
Nadi had to work overtime resulting in Tuicuvu scoring his second try.

Nadi centres Iliesa Bari and Cyril Reece played well.

Nadi manager Jeff Tamata said: “ I cannot complain of the result as we were aiming for a bonus point win but we will take the win. We expected Naitasiri to come out strong and we did our best as well with these new players.”
Naitasiri coach Joji Rinakama said: “We came to win but there were a lot of indiscipline play. There were a lot of careless mistakes and we need to learn and move on,”
