The Leone Vurukania- captained Shop N Save/Reebok Lautoka dedicated their win over Labasa to their association president Babu Rattan Deo.

What happened: The Babasiga Lions were handed their first loss since winning the Fiji FACT early this month by Lautoka 1-0 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday. The Babasiga Lions started off well but the Blues drew first blood through striker Jone Vono Jnr in the 29th minute.

Half-time: Lautoka 1 – 0 Labasa.

Labasa came out firing again with Ravinesh Karan Singh, Edwin Shayam and but Lautoka’s defence proved too strong.

Big play: Jone Vono Jnr played well.

Star turn: Goalkeeper Levi Tawake made good saves for the Blues

Lautoka coach Lambert Sarju said: “The boys came out with the mission to beat Labasa and we did.”

Labasa manager Nilesh Lal said: “The boys played well but the Lautoka goalkeeper was exceptional.”
