Wardens Reminded Of Service

Corrections officers were yesterday reminded not to serve for the sake of gaining recognition.

Corrections chaplain Reverend Josefa Tikonatabua relayed this message during the Fiji Corrections Service headquarters church service at the Suva Central SDA Church yesterday.

He urged officers not to carry out their jobs just to be recognised by their superiors.

“Service is one of the important things in the Kingdom of God. Don’t be rude and always carry out your jobs with a good heart,” Rev Tikonatabua said.

“You should always do things from your heart because that comes from within.

“You must also ensure that you are dedicated and committed to the work you do at all times.”

More than 50 officers from the service’s headquarters were part of the church service.

Commissioner of Corrections Lieutenant- Colonel Ifereimi Vasu said the service was usually conducted every quarter in the four divisions around the country.
