A number of raids conducted at the homes of those suspected to be involved in a series of robberies as well alleged receivers of stolen items over the last few weeks have managed to recover items.

A Police statement confirmed a raid was conducted in Nadera yesterday morning at the home of a 40 year old man who is believed to have been involved in a number of robberies.

“Items recovered included electronic goods, mobile phones, laptops, power tools, jewelry and other assorted items.

Meanwhile in relation to raids conducted in the Central and Southern Division in recent days items such as mobile phones, laptops and television screen have been seized.”

ACP Henry Brown Chief of Intelligence and Investigations  has called on those who have been victims of burglaries  to call the Criminal Investigations Department on 9905 219.

“Investigators continue to focus on those suspected to be receiving stolen items and again we request members of the public to refrain from accepting items easily from untrusted sources.

“People must be vigilant and enquire the origins of an item especially if it is being sold at a cheaper price than what would be the normal price sold in shops,” he said.

ACP Brown has advised that public to be cautious when approached by someone to purchase or accept items.

Officers around the Division continue to step up on investigations into aggravated robberies and home invasions in a bid to ensure criminal elements involved in these illegal acts are brought to justice.

The Police are requesting those who have been victims of robberies to contact either the Valelevu Police Station on 9905 890, 9905 574 or 9905 461.
