The Vodafone Fijian Under-20 football team etched their names in the history books after winning their first ever FIFA World Cup game defeating Honduras 3-0 yesterday.

Rewa striker Iosefo Verevou tallied another goal to his achievements, joined this time by Ba duo Antonio Tuivuna and Saula Waqa who added their names as well to the history books.

The trio’s efforts plus a sterling defense from the whole team humbled a stunned Honduran side which had come into the game pegged as the favourites to win.

This achievement comes on the back of Verevou’s historic goal against world number one Germany in their debut game on Monday.

The Jale Dreloa-skippered side will face Uzbekistan in their third pool match on Sunday.
