A number of items stolen in burglaries in the past few weeks have been recovered in raids conducted in the Southern and Central divisions.

Also arrested in the raids were alleged receivers of the stolen items.

The Fiji Police Force is now requesting those who have been victims of robberies to contact either the Valelevu Police Station on 9905890, 9905574 or 9905461.

A raid was conducted in Nadera yesterday morning at the home of a 40-year-old man who is believed to have been involved in a number of robberies. Items recovered included electronic goods, mobile phones, laptops, power tools, jewelry and other assorted items.

Meanwhile, in relation to raids conducted in the Central and Southern divisiond in recent days items such as mobile phones, laptops and television screen have been seized.

Those who have been victims or burglaries are also requested to call the Criminal Investigations Department on 9905219.

Investigators continue to focus on those suspected to be receiving stolen items and again we request members of the public to refrain from accepting items easily from untrusted sources.

The Police force says people must be vigilant and inquire about the origins of an item, especially if it is being sold at a cheaper price than what would be the normal price sold in shops.

It says people should be cautious when approached by someone to purchase or accept items and that it was advisable because it would ultimately save you from being caught on the wrong side of the law.

Officers around the division continue to step up on investigations into aggravated robberies and home invasions in a bid to ensure criminal elements involved in these illegal acts are brought to justice.
