Training Boosts Hair Stylists

A group of 12 women and two men were part of a Beauty Care therapy one-week mobile training organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Labasa.

It is being facilitated by a locally-recognised hairdresser, Moireen Arti Kiran, who runs Maks Salon at the Hotel Takia Arcade.

“I am very happy and encouraged to be passing on knowledge to these participants,” Ms Kiran said.

Participant Kunaal Singh said the training had been an eye-opener for him, especially when he did not have any proper qualification.

“I have worked at Prasad’s Hair and Beauty Salon for seven years without any proper qualifications such as a certificate from a university,” Mr Singh said.

“This training will surely boost my skills and I very happy that we will be receiving certificates of recognition for participating in this training.”

Meanwhile, Mohammed Imtiaz – a hairdresser for nine years – is proud to learn more about the different hairstyles and working with such dynamic participants during the training.

The Friendly North Hair Salon hairdresser plans to start his own business in future. The participants will graduate tomorrow with their certificates of recognition.
