Motorists and commuters are reminded that traffic will be diverted along the Queens Highway from Denarau to Korovuto via Nadi Town from today to Sunday.

This is because of the three-day Fiji International Triathlon that will start and end at Denarau Island.

Denarau Corporation Limited corporate communications executive Leanne Edwards said after a meeting between the organisers and  stakeholders, the Fiji Police Force and Higgins, a contractor in Nadi for Fiji Roads Authority.

“Denarau Island will experience a lot of activity and movements,” Ms Edwards said.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and request that you accommodate transfers in and out of Denarau accordingly.”

Ms Edwards said during the race, athletes would be escorted by Police and traffic would be managed by Higgins’ officials.

“Commuters and motorists are advised that there will be interruptions with traffic movement while the race is on,” she said.

Ms Edwards said Traffic Management comes into effect from today to Sunday.
