Suva Grateful For Support

The Suva Rugby Union officially launched their 2015 campaign for the RC Manubhai Escott Shield competition at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay yesterday.
Suva Rugby Union acting chairman Mitieli Waqa expressed his gratitude of the sponsors involvement in the competition.
“We mark the 102nd year of competition and our sponsors are the backbone of the tournament as we continue to witness tough battles between teams every weekend,” he said.
“Through great sponsorship, we continue to develop rugby at grassroots level and hope this will boost the level of competition as well in our communities.
“We would like to thank our supporters for their continued support and look forward to working with them throughout this year.”
Meanwhile, RC Manubhai Suva aim to remain unbeaten when they face Tebara Bus Tailevu in Round Three of the 2015 Skipper Cup competition tomorrow.
Waqa said the aim was to win well.
“We are going for another bonus point win this weekend,” he said.
“The coaches are rotating the players each week so all the players have equal game time before we host the big teams here at home.
“The competition is quite strong with players trying to break into the provincial teams and are proving their worth which makes it tough.”
Meanwhile, coach Salimoni Ravouvou said his player’s would need to have the right attitude going into their game against an improved Tailevu side.
“One thing we know is that Tailevu will be a different side all together and for us to win we need to have the right attitude,” he said.
“The boys know what to do and have known what they should do from Day One, but we are preparing accordingly.”
Though Suva has won both their previous games, Ravouvou said there was still room for improvement. “We have been analysing our games and always looking at what we can improve on by looking at our strengths and our weaknesses,” Ravouvou said.
RC Manubhai Suva will take on Tailevu at 3pm tomorrow at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.
