The Macuata Province Soqosoqo Vakamarama will be represented by 48 women from its 12 districts in the National Women’s Expo in Suva in October.

The expo is organised by the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation with the theme ‘Connecting Women to Markets – Make it Happen.’

It is scheduled for October 14 – 16 at the Vodafone Arena, Suva.

Macuata Province Soqosoqo Vakamarama co-ordinator Kalisita Naceba said the selection followed the Macuata Division Craft Show during the Macuata Day.

“Our craft show was a success because we were able to identify and revive a lot of hidden talents amongst our women,” Ms Naceba said.

“We have chosen 48 women to represent us at the expo because their products were unique and it portrayed our province.

“All the travelling and accommodation expenses for the women will be paid by the ministry for which we are very grateful,” she said.
