Ten young Fijian women will be announced on June 24 to take part in the 2015 Miss World Fiji finals.

The 10 would be selected from those who attended the Miss World Fiji casting at TappooCity, Suva, yesterday.

They will proceed to the Miss World ‘stiletto boot camps’ ahead of the finals from July 20 – 25 at the Pearl South Pacific Resort in Deuba.

The winner will represent Fiji in the 65th Miss World on December 19 in Sanya, China, says Miss World Fiji pageant director, Andhy Blake.

He said a good turnout of ambitious and talented young Fijian women turned up at yesterday’s casting. Among them was 21-year-old Melita Nukuvou of Navilaca, Rewa. She works in Nadi.

“This is the first time I am taking part in a beauty pageant. I believe as a young person, we should be inspired to do new things every day. This is one of them,” Miss Nukuvou said.

Anshuka, 22, a Fiji National University (FNU) research officer said, “This has been always been part of my dream. To be here today (yesterday) to try out this opportunity is a blessing.”

The casting judges were Mr Blake, Lara Chung – Miss World Fiji managing director and Natalie Marletta, the general manager for Pearl South Pacific Resort at Pacific Harbour.

Miss World Fiji 2014 Charlene Tafuna’I, Miss World Fiji 2014 2nd     Princess Vasiti Radekedeke, Miss World Fiji 2013 Caireen Erbsleben, and Miss World Fiji 2012 Koini Vakaloloma were present at the casting.

Miss South Africa’s Rolene Strauss is the reigning Miss World.
