No Place For Drunken Behaviour On Buses: LTA

Members of the public should report those who create nuisance in buses to relevant authorities, says Land Transport Authority (LTA) chief executive officer, Naisa Tuinaceva.

He made the comment after the LTA received reports of some bus passengers, especially drunkards, misbehaving in buses.

“The law is there and it is called the Passenger Code of Conduct. It is important for the public who are using Public Service Vehicles (PSV) to follow it,” Mr Tuinaceva said.

“It is important for people to maintain discipline while they are using PSV transport. Since we live in a multiracial country, we should treat people equally and with respective,” he said.

Complaints received included drunkards shouting and standing inside buses and annoying passengers.
