As part of the Fiji Police Force’s community service, its recruits held a clean-up drive at the Samabula Senior Citizens’ Home in Suva yesterday.

Corporal Paula Waqakalou said the activity was also part of their training.

“This we do as officers. We look after the welfare of people in our country and we make sure that everyone is at ease and that they feel comfortable to talk or to report to us regarding any issue,” Corporal Waqakalou said.

New recruit, Ilisapeci Baleiwai said: “My passion lies in serving people and to be here today to lend a helping hand to our parents who have been abandoned from their homes is a blessing.”

The recruits who took part in the clean-up drive are the first batch of 120 for the Force this year. They graduate next month.
