Suva Too Strong For Tailevu
What happened: RC Manubhai Suva scored their second bonus 31-6 win in the Skipper Cup competition after defeating Tebara Bus Tailevu at Ratu Cakobau Park yesterday.
With their heavy forward pack, the capital side established domination from the start.
Samu Suguturaga scored the first try in the 10th minute.
In the 18th minute, lock forward Viliame Sigamasi was sinned binned.
In the 29th minute Tailevu playmaker Joe Navue kicked a penalty.
The capital side regrouped well and with the experienced and heavy pack scored their second try in the 37th minute through Jaoji Dakuvula, which was converted by Ratu Meli Kurisaru.
In the 40th minute Suguturaga was sin-binned for a dangerous tackle. Tailevu first five-eight Joe Navue to successfully kicked another penalty. Halftime: Suva 12- 6 Tailevu.
Suva regrouped well in the second half resulting in the penalty try in the 49th minute which was converted by Kurisaru.
Etuate Qio scored Suva’s third try in the 34th minute while lanky Josefa Levula scored their bonus try in the 39th minute, converted by Kurisaru.
Full-time: Suva 31-6 Tailevu.
Big play: Suva forwards played a magnificent game.
Star turn: The capital side dominated in all aspects of the game.
Comments: Despite the win, Suva head coach Salimoni Ravouvou was disappointed with the performance.
“It was good we had our second bonus win but I’m still disappointed with the players. They did not play our game plan well and they started late.
Tailevu assistant coach Rusiate Kaibau:

“This is the third week our panel of coaches are trying to work on these young players to put together a good combination and so far so good.”
