The first round of the Southern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby competition started at the Suva Grammar School grounds last Saturday.

Zone president Napolioni Silatolu said competition was tough.

“Three new schools Lomary Secondary, Ratu Latianara High and Namosi High are making it tougher,” Silatolu said.

He said there wouldn’t be any Tier One, Tier Two competitions in 2015.

“After the zonal rounds, they head straight into the quarterfinal playoffs,” he said.

Results: U15 Ratu Sukuna Memorial School 7-5 Nasinu Secondary, John Wesley College 10-5 Lomary Secondary, Gospel High 0-0 Ratu Latianara High.

U16: SGS 0-9 to RSMS, MBHS 10-8 Nasinu Secondary.

U18: RSMS 26-7 Dudley High.

EASTERN ZONE: U18: LMS 37-0 Sila Central. QVS 26-6 St John Cawaci, Nasinu Secondary School 11-6 AOGH 6, MBHS 32-10 John Wesley College.

U14: QVS12-0 RKS; U15: QVS 10-0 RKS; U16 LMS 6-5 John Wesley College.

U19: RKS 17-9 LMS.

WESTERN ZONE: U18: Ratu Navula College43-3 Swami Vivekenanda College.
