Suva Golden Oldies Promote Healthy Living

For the Suva Golden Oldies rugby club, the message of healthy living and wellness is one that they carry in everything they do.
It was this same spirit that they embodied and shared when playing a friendly game with members of the United States Naval Forces that were in the country yesterday.
This was the message shared by Club president Jope Tuivanuavou when speaking to SUNsports yesterday.
Tuivanuavou said healthy living was a common goal for both their club and the USA Navy, who are in the country as part of their Pacific Partnership Programme II providing medical services.
“It’s just a friendly match. But the whole spirit of this game is to promote healthy living and wellness. We’ve been quite vocal about prostate cancer awareness, which is just part of our wider objective of encouraging healthy living,” he said.
“So this is the vision that we share because they’re here to provide medical services and at the same time promote awareness on health issues as well as healthy living. So through this common interest, we decided to have this game.”
The friendly match was played at the Cathedral Secondary School grounds in Nasese, Suva ,yesterday.
