$10,000 Boost For Fijian Pearls

ANZ Fiji donated a cheque purse of $10,000 to the Fijian Pearls Netball team yesterday.
As a premier sponsor for the 2015 Netball World Cup which will be held in Sydney in August ANZ was proud to sponsor the Pacific champions. ANZ chief executive Officer for Fiji and the Pacific Vishnu Mohan applauded the Pearls for their hard work.
“Just last week we announced that we will be premier partners for the World cup in August,” he said.
“We want to thank you for your accomplishment today and wish you well in the world cup.”
Team manager RubyAnn Sorovaki acknowledged ANZ for their support and said the sponsorship would boost preparation for the 2015 Pacific Games next month and the World Cup in August.
“We want to thank ANZ for supporting the country’s largest female sport and we are very fortunate that ANZ considers sports as their crucial component for community development,” she said.
“This support will go a long way in preparation for the intensive programme we have ahead of us at the Pacific Games, a test match against the Silver Ferns and the World Cup in August,” Sorovaki said.
The Fijian Pearls have been the undisputed queens of netball in the Pacific and Sorovaki ensures the bank that they are supporting a good team.
“The Fiji Pearls have been the undisputed queens in the Pacific for some years now and we will keep it that way you are backing a great team,” Sorovaki said.
Meanwhile, the Pearls are grouped alongside Vanuatu and Cook Islands while Samoa heads pool two alongside hosts Papua New Guinea, Tonga and Solomon Islands.
