The Fiji International is one of the hottest golf tournaments in the South Pacific and a week not to be missed for those looking for a holiday in paradise combined with elite golf.

The PGA Tour of Australasia’s newest golf tournament, the Fiji International, was staged for the first time in August 2014 at the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course and those in attendance quickly discovered that the Rugby loving nation knows how to put on a show.

From the moment Australian Steven Jeffress hit the first shot of the tournament until he sunk the last putt to become the first Fiji International champion, it was a week of highlights.

However it was about more than just inside the ropes action, the Fijians stamped their own unique personality on the tournament, from a traditional sevusevu ceremony to warrior dancers welcoming spectators, Fiji announced its arrival onto the international golf stage.

The Fiji International is back on October 15-18   and here are four reasons why YOU should attend:

1. World class golf

Let’s not forget about the most important thing…the golf! The Fiji International is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and OneAsia tours, which means it draws some of the best golfing talent from the Asia-Pacific region. With a $1 million prize purse and Official World Golf Ranking Points up for grabs the tournament offers huge opportunities for the winner. While you can expect to see all the regular big name New Zealand, Australian and Asian players in action some exciting announcements are expected shortly about other international stars.

2. A great day out for the family

The Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course, designed by three-time Major winner Vijay Singh, provides stunning views. The lush green grass of the rolling fairways contrasts against the dramatic hillside landscape makes the course layout unique. But if the beauty of the course isn’t enough, turn around and gaze upon the Coral Coast. The Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course is built on one of the most beautiful stretches of beachfront in Fiji ensuring that 15 of the 18 holes have a sparkling backdrop of coral reefs and the Pacific Ocean. So bring your family and enjoy a day out at Natadola with amazing views and activities for children.

3. Volunteers

While it’s always fun to watch the Pros in action it’s even better to be part of it yourself. The Fiji International is looking for volunteers to go inside the ropes as walking scorers.

This opportunity gives you the chance to see golf from a different angle, be closer to the action and interact with the players. But if scoring isn’t for you there are plenty of other volunteering roles that are integral at an international tournament of this calibre so combine your passion for golf and travel with this unique experience.

4. The ultimate exclusive experience

The Paradise Club allows you to enjoy all the action of the world class golf while overlooking the 18th from the heights of the Clubhouse. Take your pick of veranda lounges, socialise in the greenside bure, or sit down for a meal inside.

A Paradise Club ticket includes one day access for: access to the golf course and Paradise Club for one day, buffet lunch, afternoon tea, drinks package, Fiji International gift, VIP car park pass, daily appearances by PGA Professionals, TV screening with live feed from the course and daily lucky door prizes. The Natadola Beach Oasis, is where golf meets the beach. Located on one of the signature holes, you can enjoy all the excitement of the stunning Par 3,  4th hole, while socialising on the beach.

The Natadola Beach Oasis daily ticket includes: access to the golf course and Natadola Beach Oasis, walk and fork lunch served from midday to 3pm, drinks package, VIP car park access, Fiji International gift and entertainment on the beach. (Cost: F$275 per person per day)

The ultimate way to kick off tournament week is to attend the Official Gala dinner on Tuesday, October 14.

Tickets to the dinner include: 2 course buffet dinner, pre dinner drinks and dinner drinks package along with entertainment including player appearances, local music and performers.
