The Fiji Muslim League in partnership with Generosity International Organisation of Canada is very proud to be part of worthwhile projects which has assisted numerous Fijian families in Fiji.

This partnership started after the members of Generosity International learned of the plight of families living in low-lying areas during natural disasters.

They have spent well over $165,000 to build and repair 50 houses belonging to the poor, needy and disadvantage people of Fijian people in various districts.

The league has thanked the ex-Fiji residents in Canada, who came over to help them.

The first project was the construction of five new houses for the villagers of Nawaqarua in Ba.

This was followed by construction of extra rooms for 10 existing houses, built above flood levels, to enable residents to avoid damage from rising floodwaters.

Few houses were assisted with repairs and maintenance work in Ba and Nadi.

Five two-bedoom houses were built between Suva and Nausori corridor earlier this year.

The houses belonged to widows, a disabled person and generally disadvantaged people.

Five houses were also built in Nadi and one house in Sorokoba Village in Ba.
