$203K For Horse Race Stadium

A request for a horse race stadium to be built at Namosau, Ba, will now be reality.
This is after the Ministry of Local Government gave $203,000 towards the project.
This was confirmed by the Minister for Local Government, Parveen Kumar.
“There was a request from the people of Ba and the Ba Town Council in the 2015 Challenge Fund,” he said.
“The Ministry for Local Government has given $203,000 for the construction of the stadium, fitted with toilet facilities and change room.
“That will be a double-level complex whereby the top floor will be for the judges of the horse race.
“In absence of this there was a problem because there were no toilet facilities and no water supply.”
Mr Kumar is really happy that the Government has funded this much-needed project.
“Not only that, the track will be upgraded and the space in the middle will be converted to a soccer and rugby field,” he said.
The minister hopes that this project will be completed by the end of August so that the first race can be held in October.
For the progress made by far, Mr Kumar is happy saying work progress was satisfactory.
The other project the minister is looking at is the second stage of the Clopcott Subdivision.
“Once we give them the title then we will start with the second stage, which are the extra lots created and the revenue will be for the roads and the drainage.”
