Café Gives Back To Community

The staff of Hard Rock Cafe showed their appreciation to men and women who tirelessly protect the community yesterday at the Port Denarau Shopping Complex.

The Café treated Police officers from the Namaka and Nadi stations, Border Police officials and National Fire Authority officers to lunch.

This was also in conjunction with the celebrations for the Hard Rock Cafe’s 44th birthday, which is celebrated by its branches all over the world.

Cafe operations manager David Tipker said it was an honour to give back to the community.

“Hard Rock Cafe wants to give back to the people in the community, those who help you out such as the firemen, the policemen and ambulance workers,” he said

“They are invited in to enjoy a meal and it’s just the way things are done around the world usually it’s done in America more than other countries and ever year something different is done.”

“We have live bands we have beer drinking competitions, burger eating competition, dances from the staff we have a performance by one of the customers who will dress up as Elvis,” Mr Tipker said.

The day’s festivities ended with the cutting of the birthday cake.
