Contestants Introduced To Public

Twenty-six contestants for the 2015 Duavata Northern Crime Prevention Carnival in the Northern Division were introduced to the public last Saturday night.

Fiji Police chief of operations Assistant Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu officiated at the event at the Banana Leaf Restaurant in Labasa.

The carnival will consist of six Kings, eight Queens, five Princesses, four Teens and three Turaga contestants.

“This is one of the highlight for me as the chief of operations and how we would like to map our way forward for the safety of the people of Fiji,” ACP Tudravu said.

“I do not see any other better strategy that is in place for the community and the Police to work together like it’s witnessed here tonight.

“The commitment from the Fiji Police is always there because I was looking at the financial records just yesterday (Friday) on all the activities in the North and it was a surprise to me.

“I think this festival is the Hibiscus of Vanua Levu because of the way forward to improve the organisation because the committee is coming forward to assist the Police force.”

The week-long carnival will be from June 20–27.
