Tui Nadi Welcomes  Fijian Tourism Expo

We need more exposure to lure more tourists, says Tui Nadi Ratu Sailosi Dawai.

The Nadi chief has once again welcomed the idea to stage such events, as this weeks Fijian Tourism Expo. It will not only boost tourism in Nadi but Fiiji as whole.

“This is a vital component to the tourism industry in Fiji where by a good number of people including the vanua of Nadi has benefitted from this sector for decades,” Ratu Sailosi said.

“The bigger picture comes to the contribution of our economy. The vanua have supported this expo and the other initiatives the government of the day comes up with. We have to look at things on which our livelihoods have are depended on and lets embrace it.”

A Tourism Fiji delegation to the Tui Nadi was led by the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya.

He was accompanied by the Executive Chairman of the Tourism Fiji, Truman Bradley and major sponsor of FTE 2015, Pacific Destinations managing director James Sowane.

They presented the i sevusevu at the Tui Nadi’s Residence, in Narewa Village.

Mr Koya thanked the Tui Nadi for his support.

“We thank the Tui Nadi for his blessing as this event will attract international buyers and sellers which are important not only to Tourism Fiji, the Government but the whole economy depends on.”

Mr Bradley said, “There is a lot of work needed in coming days and there is a need to work together.”

The Fijian Tourism Expo today will commence at 9am at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa. It will end of Thursday.
