Vendors Learn Skills To Deal With Customers

Siteri Lewairavu, 64, loves her occupation as a market vendor.

Yesterday she learned new skills on how to be at her best when dealing with customers.

Ms Lewairavu was among vendors in Nadi and Namaka markets who attended a United Nations Women-funded training on customer service at the Nadi Civic Centre.

She said she found the training very beneficial.

She learned conduct, appearance and the state of the market stalls and tables.

“The training really encouraged me to do better in my business and especially since I love meeting people,” she said.

“Today (yesterday) has helped me see which areas to improve since I have been selling in the market for 24 years.”

Lorraine Sake, 39, said it was important that vendors were mindful of how they present and conduct themselves mainly for those based in the tourism capital of Fiji.

“I’m very impressed that this training has really benefitted vendors at grassroots level and it will help us create a brand that is remembered when our customers leave Fiji,” she said.
