Baton of Honour For Headboy Vauvau

Tavua District Secondary School headboy and Year 13 student Viliame Vauvau thanked everyone for their solid support that enabled his achievements.
The 18-year-old was parade commander of the school’s passing-out parade at Garvey Park, Tavua, yesterday.
“I felt good about being given the baton of honour. It was a great achievement and this is my last year at school,” he said.
He said this was something he was expecting because he had been working towards this since he was in Year Nine.
“While doing my march past I felt good about it and I felt proud to be part of this school for so long. I have always had pride for my school. Even when we marched through town I felt really proud,” Viliame said.
He hopes to take up further studies at the Fiji National University College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences to pursue his passion to be a dentist.
Proud father Waisake Qauqau said he was equally ecstatic about his son’s hard work paying off.
“He has reached a level I never dreamed he would,” Mr Qauqau said.
“I thank God for protecting him and helping him reach this far and that he has reached this standard in his life as a young man.”
