Cadetship Good For Schools, Says RFMF

The cadet programme helps prepare students for the future, says Republic of Fiji Military Forces’ Lieutenant-Colonel Ilai Moceica.
The Commanding Officer, Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment, was speaking yesterday at the Ratu Kadavulevu School passing-out parade in Lodoni.
Lieutenant-Colonel Moceica said cadetship contributed to building a knowledge-based society.
He said the programme was designed to support schools in their efforts to prepare cadets to “successfully handle the complexities of contemporary society, to enhance their self-confidence, motivation and self-esteem.”
“The programme also focuses on character development and discipline, which in turn helps cadets develop special life skills, thus, making their learning a holistic experience,” he said.
Ther were 772 students on parade.
“They not only had their passing-out as cadets but as a disciplined lot of 762 boys and 10 girls from RKS who are, wise, disciplined, self-controlled, visionary, decisive and passionate about nation building,” he said.
