Hygiene Kit Boost For Cancer Society

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) has been supporting the Fiji Cancer Society through difficult times.
The LDS church yesterday donated 200 personal hygiene kits to the Fiji Cancer Society yesterday.
They donated 50 hygiene kits for kids, 50 for adult males and 100 for females.
Assistant country welfare manager Fiji LDS church Frank Stanford said: “The personal kits are for those cancer patients who come from the village or the interior and are not aware that they will have to be staying at the hospital for long,” he said.
When the society goes out to visit cancer patients, Mr Stanford said they could give them kits so they could look after themselves and keep themselves clean.
“We are very blessed to be part of this; it’s the largest donation and the largest number of hygiene kits we have ever made to Fiji Cancer Society,” he said.
Fiji Cancer Society manager Rajshree Baleisuva said: “The relationship with LDS church started a few years ago and I can see that it has grown. It is not just the donation that we receive; it’s the support that we receive seen from Mr and Mrs Frank.
“We have patients coming from all over Fiji and this is really great support for the cancer patients.”
