Yoga A Gift: Envoy

Yoga embodies mind and body says the Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Gitesh Sarma said.
World Yoga Day will be celebrated tomorrow.
The Indian High Commission in Suva will organise a celebration.
Mr Sarma said: “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition,” he said.
“It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.
“It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with you, the world and the nature.”
He said by changing the lifestyle and creating consciousness, it could help people to deal with climate change issues as well.
“Folding of both hands in the logo symbolise Yoga, the union, which reflects the union of individual consciousness with that of universal consciousness, a perfect harmony between mind and body and man and nature,” Mr Sarma said.
“The brown leaves symbolise the Earth element, the green leave symbolises the nature, blue symbolise the water element, brightness symbolise the fire element and the Sun symbolise the source of energy and inspiration.
“The logo reflects harmony and peace for the humanity, which is the essence of Yoga.”
A celebration will be held at the Lautoka Girmit Centre at 9am where a large number of people are expected to participate.
