If word coming in from Sydney is to be trusted, congratulations are in order, it seems, to a fellow who has not always been praised here.

The newly divorced fellow is said to be expecting an addition to his family.

His partner, who at one stage used to work for him in Fiji, is expecting in August.

We also hear proud grandparents will be travelling to Sydney to welcome the new arrival. Congratulations!

Wrong time

Someone said it right. What is the deal with people cornering Ministers and Members of Parliament at all sorts of events, even funerals?

One Minister who had gone to pay his last respects at a funeral recently in the Western Division was bombarded by people. Many for some very petty issues. Sigh.

By Mick Beddoes’ own frustrated admission yesterday, only 340 people signed up to SODELPA’s anti-new-flag petition.

Maybe the man from Sabeto should realise not as many are opposed to this change as he would love to think.

Maybe he should get back to concentrating on his own business.
