Mission Accomplished

The 2015 ANZ Suva Badminton Open tournament achieved the objectives set out by the Fiji Badminton Association.
The tournament which ended last Saturday saw 86 participants taking part with 14 winners named in three grades.
Fiji Badminton Association vice-president Alvin De Asa said the tournament was a success and got them on track to prepare a team for future tournaments.
“The tournament was really a success, especially with most our participants being students,” De Asa said.
“We have basically achieved two things that we wanted. The first one was to involve more youths to help rebuild badminton and bring in new talent that we can develop from a young age.
“We want to prepare our youths for future tournaments and having such a big number of those youths interested in the sport is a good start for us.
Participants will now be preparing for the upcoming Secondary Schools Competition in August followed by the Fiji Open in October.
