Tomasi Vakausu, 23, claimed the 2015 Body Works and Physique Championship at Novotel Nadi last Saturday night.

The Galoa, Bua, Vanua Levu native was over the moon after capturing his first major title since taking up the sport three years ago.

He was actively involved in boxing and rugby league but injured his knee four year ago.

“I was persuaded by my wife (Temo Baleisuva) to take this sport since it was being involved in contact sports and I never regretted the move.

“After winning a silver medal at the 2013 Fiji Games, this is a major victory for me.”

Sefanaia Cakau came, Simon Shankaran in third and was also awarded the Novice Mr Bodyworks title.

In fourth place was Simon Leuta while Inoke Loaloa settled for fifth position. Lautoka’s Natasha Nelson walked away with the Ms Bodyworks Figure.

Organiser Albert Veeran said the competition was a success with 16 men and two women competing.

“The event was a huge success,” he said.

“At times it was difficult for the judges to decide the winners.

Former Wallaby Lote Tuqiri was impressed with the event.

“It was very well organised, a job well done by Albert Veeran and the corporate sponsors; overall it was a very good competition,”he said.
