3 Theft Accused Remain In Custody

The three men charged with 12 counts of theft will remain in custody, the Lautoka Magistrates Court ruled yesterday.

Ravin Rajendra Prakash, 35, Sanjeev Kumar, 30, and Esala Tabaloa, 36, appeared before Magistrate Rangajeeva Wimalasena in relation to the robbery at FMF in Navutu, Lautoka, early this month.

They will be further remanded in custody at the Natabua Corrections Centre.

The three are charged with 12 counts of theft contrary to section 291 (1) of the Crimes Decree No. 44 of 2009.

Prakash, a sales man is also charged with one count of giving false information to public servant contrary to section 201 (a) of the crimes decree no 44 of 2009.

The court heard that on June 12 Prakash had stated that he was allegedly forcefully taken out from his vehicle by two unknown men as he waited for the security personnel to open the main gate of the company premises.

The vehicle was later found abandoned at Delai Tomuka.

Magistrate Wimalasena remanded the three in custody until July 6 for mention.
