Peter Raman, 80, has died in America.
The late Raman was a great soccer player in his time.
He was a legend.

He would have been the happiest man to hear that Nadi has won this year’s Rewa Galaxy Premier League and qualified to play in OFC Champions League.

Jayanti Morarji who played with Peter Raman (last game for Nadi) was the youngest player of the Nadi team.

Raman was the oldest player in the team when they played together.

According to Morarji, it was sad to hear about the passing away of Peter Raman.

“He was one of the best soccer players of his time. He also represented Fiji,” Morarji said.

“In person he was a very humble person and we became friends and used to meet at Nadi Hotel Bamboo Room.”

Raman contributed a lot towards the development of soccer in the country.

He began his refereeing career in 1960 and was appointed Fiji Football Referees Association president in 1968 until 1978.

He also held FIFA badge and officialled in international games.

Peter Raman was also a national team selector.

He was a manager of Sangam Sarda Printing Press and was the project manager alongside Navin Morarji (engineer) during the construction of the Sri Siva Subramanian Swami Temple in Nadi.

He was a life member of (TISI) Fiji.

Fiji soccer fans will really miss him.

May his soul rest in peace.
