Providing affordable housing for the common people of Fiji is the direction newly-appointed Housing Authority of Fiji chief executive Joshua Wycliffe has vowed to take during his tenure.

The New Zealander has 25 years of experience in social infrastructure and social housing in New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa in similar management and executive roles.

His official appointment was announced yesterday during traditional iTaukei ceremonies of welcome at Housing Authority headquarters at Valelevu, Nasinu.

“We can adapt ourselves to a direction where we will be successful and provide housing for the common man of Fiji more innovatively.

“This would mean that we look at new technologies and new systems that can make housing more affordable to people.

With his 25 years of experience in the social housing, Mr Wycliffe added that working closely with the local and international industry is what can reduce costs.
