Indian High Commissioner to Fiji Gitesh Sarma lights a diya.

The Carpenters Finance Bollywood Night at the Duavata Northern Crime Prevention Carnival saw northerners flood Subrail Park in Labasa on Thursday evening.
Speaking at the Carnival, the Indian High Commissioner to Fiji Gitesh Sarma said Fiji and India shared special bonds and both were doing a great job of strengthening those ties.
“Bollywood is doing a great job in bringing us together as it is all about unlimited and diluted fun and entertainment,” Mr Sarma said.
He said Fiji was described as the nation of the happiest people on earth.
“Its natural beauty is amazing. The people are so talented and I look forward to the day when more Bollywood movies are made here.”
Mr Sarma said he also looked forward to the day when Fijian stars rock Bollywood.
“I want to thank the Police for doing a great job in keeping us safe and let’s do our part to make police work easier.”
He said: “Let us make our own contribution to make our society crime free.
“Let us salute the brave police who guard us, protect us and help us,” Mr Sarma said.
The carnival concludes tonight.
