Building a new conducive working culture and environment is now the operative term for staff of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation. They started in style yesterday as staff and their families turned out for National Sports Day at Toorak.
FPTCL chief executive officer Antonio Takala said part of their corporate strategy was to build a good working environment.
“Our staff thought of having a sports day to create a new working culture and to also improve on our productivity,” he said.
“We usually have a 30-minutes walk by all the staff every Tuesday and Thursday and with this type of program we are also able to enhance team work.
“This was done so we could have more staff coming to work every day rather than to have a lot of staff calling in sick because of their unhealthy lifestyle,” he said.
“Today, we have done extra activities and that is bringing our families to come join in the fun with the rest of our workmates and making sure that we all have fun together and at the same time exercise our body after a few hard days at work,” he said.
“We spent more time together at work and a little time is spent on our family so by doing this we are helping to balance our time with family and with work,” he said.
