Honour To Lead

Pacific Sprint king Banuve Tabakaucoro, Eugene Vollmer, Elenoa Sailosi and Milika Tuivanuavou will lead Team Fiji athletics team to the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.
The quartet will be in charge of the 30-member team.
Tabakaucoro and Sailosi are new to the leadership role and strongly believe they have prepared well for a positive outcome.
“Firstly I was shocked when they first selected me to be captain, I don’t know why they picked me but it’s an honor to lead with Milika.
“Most athletes are secondary school students they listen well and look up to us captains,” Sailosi said.
The Narikoso, Kadavu native will be battling with favorite Toea Wisil in the 400m and 200m race and with God on her side Sailosi expects favorable outcome.
Bau ‘Bullet’ Tabakaucoro looks forward to his game day to defend his title.
“To defend my title and being one of the leaders is not an easy task. I really want to go into the competition as an underdog but I have to set good examples.
Co-captain Eugene Vollmer said it was an honour to have a young team with everyone looking out for one another.
“It’s been an honor we have a young team everyone’s working hard, everyone’s out there to compete for each other and I love
that because we are family.”
