Kumar Wins In Nadi

Jet Runners Club member Ravnil Kumar set a new record in winning his fourth McDonald’s Olympic Fun Run title in Nadi yesterday.
He won the event in Suva last year and clocked 18 minutes yesterday.
“It is good to return to Nadi and win after claiming back-to-back wins in 2012 and 2013,” he said.
“I am improving and looking forward to represent Fiji at the Pacific Games in future,”
“I did not participate in the trials after my grandfather died.”
Abbygale Tikoisuva won the women’s category with a time of 26.14 minutes.
Event co-ordinator Angela Birch said 140 athletes registered to race.
“There has been a lot of interest to the event annually and it is all about wellness and fun at the same time,” she said.
She thanked McDonald’s, Goodman Fielder, Vodafone, Fiji National Sports Commission and FASANOC for hosting the event.
Meanwhile, Nadi Sports Council president Ronnie Chang also took part of the event.
“It was a fun day and we were lucky as the weather was great,” he said.
“The Nadi runners had a lot of fun and we are going to make it bigger next year.”.
