Christian Mission Fellowship International (CMFI) church marked a milestone achievement yesterday.

The ground-breaking ceremony for their Tacirua East-based new college, was the culmination of years of planning and prayer by the CMFI leaders.

On hand to conduct the ceremony was New York Times bestselling author Dr John Calvin Maxwell.

He also gave $20,000 to assist in the building of the new college.

Dr Maxwell, an expert on leadership and consultant to Fortune 500 companies in the U.S was in the country to conduct leadership training seminars at CMF church in Kinoya.

Dr Maxwell stressed the importance of attaining a quality education.

“The future of your country is dependent on our children who will be our future leaders,” Dr Maxwell said.

“My prayer is that the Lord will bless your country and that he will raise children like Samuel in the Bible,” he said.

CMF College chairperson, Pastor Emosi Toroca said the College was part of their strategic plan to invest in training leaders.

“All of this was made possible through God,”Pastor Toroca said.

“We believe that through this college, we will be able to raise mighty future leaders of our country who will assist in the building up of a better nation,”he said.

The College is expected to be completed by year 2018.
