Students don’t want drugs on the streets of Waqadra community, Nadi. That was the clear message from the students of Nadi Arya Samaj Primary School during their march on Thursday.

Students don’t want drugs on the streets of Waqadra community, Nadi.

That was the clear message from the students of Nadi Arya Samaj Primary School during their march on Thursday.

The march was part of the school’s celebration for the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Drug awareness and child abuse counselor Sairusi Tuiqaqa was the chief guest.

“Drugs and substance abuse have destructive effects on our health,they affect our brain and our internal organs,”he said.

School head teacher Arun Nadan said the students were choosing a more proactive approach for the days festivities.

“We want to set a platform whereby our students participate in the advocation of a drug free Fiji and its a good sight to see our young ones enjoying and also learning beneficial lessons,”he said.

Students performed items and and the days festivities concluded with a march around the Waqadra community in Nadi where the school is situated.
