Nasole Youths Work For Crime Prevention

Young people in Nasole, Nasinu spent their holiday yesterday working to help prevent crime in their area.
Nasole Youth Director Epi Ramasima said their neighbourhood had always been marked a red zone by police.
“For the past few years this place was known to be one of the top places in the Nasinu area with a lot of crimes committed by youths. This day not only marked the National Sports Day for our youths, but we have finally brought together, all youths and people from all walks of life to prevent crime,” he said.
Mr Ramasima said their Nasinu Rugby Club was formed by youths in area and they had been taught to take responsibility and be the change in the community.
“Not only do we give them sports to play and have fun, but we teach them about becoming responsible adults for the betterment of their future and for everyone as a whole,” Mr Ramasima said.
“Few youths have actually found jobs after being constantly taught some moral values that we instill in them during meetings. Some youths have gone abroad to pursue their studies while some went on sports scholarships,” he said.
