Meli Malani has recovered and is ready to compete in the 2015 Pacific Games.

The 18-year old suffered a hand injury in the United States.

“I have joined my team in training and my hand is getting better and I feel excited going to my first Pacific Games,” Malani said.

“The bonding is outstanding everyone is training really well.”

The Nabukadra, Ra native, who has maternal links to Tonga, will compete in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

“Right now I do not worry about medals I know New Caledonia and Tahiti swimmers will be tough.

“My main challenge now is to go out there and hope for a good result,” he said.
