Call For FIJI Water

The Team Fiji advance party has requested FIJI Water to be included when the first batch of athletes depart for the Pacific Games in Port Moresby tomorrow.
Chef de Mission Cathy Wong and administrator Jane Niubalavu inspected the facilities and the Games Village yesterday.
The dining room is open for the contingents who are already there.
Team PNG are already in the village, however it appears the bottled water sponsor for the Games, is not in a position to supply the water as yet.
Wong has requested FIJI Water, one of the sponsors for the Pacific Games, to provide for the Team Fiji Common Room.
Team Fiji contingent comprises 543 athletes and officials.
Team Fiji has a 20-foot container, provided by the Fijian community in Port Moresby so there is enough space to store bottled water.
PM O’Neill promises best
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill opened the new state-of-the-art Taurama Aquatic Centre on Sunday and promised to put on the best Games for the Pacific.
He said being the biggest economy in the Pacific, his government honoured the commitment from its predecessor in preparing for the Pacific Games.
“It was of national interest that we had to complete the facility and deliver the Games on time,” O’Neill told The National.
“This government is delivering to the people what it promised them in 2012. Let us be proud of what our country is achieving today. All the members of the Games committees and hard working staff — this is your day. You are going to deliver the best Games the Pacific has ever seen.”
Torch Relay team
The torch relay has completed its journey around the country visiting 21 provinces and arrived in Port Moresby yesterday.
