Focus Is Key, Says Coach Sharon Smith
The Fiji swimming team trained at the Taurama Aquatic Centre yesterday.
Coach Sharon Smith said the third session was to try and put together their relay combination.
“The swimmers are excited,” Smith said.
“After our third day of training some of the young swimmers are clocking their personal best.”
Smith was impressed with the venue and said it would bring a lot of challenges to the swimmers.
“The venue is really good and we are all excited and at the same time there will be a lot of challenges coming from New Caledonia and Tahiti in the sprint events,” she said.
“We really have to work hard to win gold.” She said focus was the main key for the Fijian swimmers.
“My message now to the swimmers is to stay focussed as we have a lot of young swimmers in the team. The older ones are looking after them well. Focus will only be the key to win gold medal.”
Swimming starts tomorrow.
