Veiuto Primary School Under-10 Kaji rugby team advanced to the semifinal after defeating John Wesley Primary School 21-5 in the quarterfinal yesterday.

The side scored two tries, which were both converted, in the opening 10 minutes to lead 14-0 at halftime.

Team manager and parent’s committee president Malakai Tueli praised the boys for the job well done.

“It has been a good competition for the boys and staying unbeaten so far and I thank them for the hard work,” Tueli said.

“The way the boys played actually exceeded our expectations and it was a pleasing result.

“We thank sponsors (CJ Patel Group, Digicel and FIJI Water) for partnering with us.

“We look forward to the semifinals and the finals this weekend.”
